| All applicants
are now routinely required to provide 10 digit
fingerscans and a digital photograph when applying
for a UK visa, with a few exceptions (Heads
of State for example).
You have to provide biometric information at
the Visa Application Centre (VAC) while submitting
your application. A digital photograph will
be taken and your fingers will be printed using
a glass screen at the time of submitting the
application. You should make sure that there
is no henna on fingers, or any cuts or other
markings on the fingertips before having the
finger scans. You should also make sure that
if there are any cuts and bruises on the face,
they have healed or disappeared before you have
the photograph taken. Digital photographs must
be of full face and you should not wear sunglasses,
a hat or any other head covering.
